Hacksaw Ridge is a movie based on a true story. The film does have great quality graphics and also has a great plot to the story. What this film is trying to teach you is people can treat you like crap but at the end of the day you should still be kind to them, because they will eventually have your back. Also another lesson from the film Hacksaw Ridge is about being honest to people and also being stong in what you believe in life. Hacksaw Ridge should be one of the top war films of all time.
In this picture is Private Desmond Doss running up the field during battle https://peopledotcom.files.wordpress.com/2016/11/hacksaw-ridge.jpg
In the film Hacksaw Ridge, there are a lot of pros in the film but also there is some cons as well. The examples of the pros in the film are it’s a True story, Graphics and Special effects, The Army, Main Character, and Battle of Okinawa. The cons are on how the book is better than the film.
- True Story- The best part of this film is because everything that happenend is true. Doss wouldn’t allow this movie to come out if it wasn’t accurate. But when they made this film they made a very accutrate portayal of what Desmond Doss’s life.
- Graphics and Special effects- The films graphics and special effects make it seem like you are in the film. If you want to feel like you’re in the film, then this is the perfect movie for you. But if you can’t handle seeing a lot of blood then I would not recommend this movie because there is a lot of it. The injuries sustained by many of the soldiers look real and very difficult to watch. You do see in the film brain tissues falling out of skulls, gut wounds, pulsating arteries and traumatic amputations of extremities but these is examples of how bad war is.
- The Army- The film does a great job on showing what the Army was like back in the days. There is no messing around from anyone because they are putting there life on the line. Also the film does an excelletnt job showing what boot camp for the US was like as well.
- The main character- In the film Desmond Doss is the main character and that’s what this whole movie is about. Desmond Doss is such a nice person and he never wanted to hurt anyone, he just wanted to help others. What the film does awesome at is showing what Desmond Doss had to face during boot camp and in combat. During camp Doss went from being a well-liked person to a targeted enemy in his own barracks at camp and this all happened because of what his beliefs were.
- Battle of Okinawa- In this film it took place in Okinawa, Japan and it was one of the bloodiest battles in WWII. During the Battle of Okinawa more than 12,000 Americans were either dead or living off really bad injuries. For the Japanese, more then 75,000 soldiers were lost during the battle. I do recommend this movie to anyone over 18 in order to develop a better understanding of what this war was like. Also, the cost of war in terms of human life.
- Book- I do highly recommend watching the film Hacksaw Ridge, but the book is a lot better than the movie. The book goes into much more details about Doss early childhood and they do add little stories so you can understand a lot better and it does go more in depth. The movie doesn’t have enough time to address all the information.
In, conclusion there are a lot of pros and some cons in the film Hacksaw Ridge. I still do however highly suggest for people to go watch this film. I do belive that this film is one of the greatest war movies in all time. After watching this film it can change you forever.
